GFI WebMonitor™ 2011 R3 has been released today. GFI WebMonitor 2011 R3 now includes new security and anti-malware features that enable small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to provide employee Internet access without sacrificing network protection.

Combined with GFI WebMonitor’s detection and filtering capabilities, the new security features make it easier to control Internet access and identify malicious websites and infected content.

Lime Training

Lime now offer MS Office Training both on and off premise

Lime are proud to annouce our new training service.

We can now offer training courses in Office applications from the 2003, 2007 and 2010 suites as well as more specialist applications like Project

Courses are restricted to 8 delegates to ensure you get quality tutor time, and lunch, course notes and 45 days email based support is provided afterwards.

GFI Aquires Monitis

Aquisition provides more monitoring possibilites

So GFI have aquired Monitis to fold the service / software into the GFI software family.  The news from GFI is below:

Backup Software Upgrade

New features in V4

In the new v4 release of StoreGrid there has been a few new features released mainly concentrating on Bare Metal Restore and conversion to VMWare P2V machines.

New Features in v4

1. Support for Disk Image Backup and Bare Metal Restore (BMR) on all versions of Windows. The image backup can be restored even to a machine with a dissimilar hardware (P2P).
2. Support for conversion of Physical Disk Image to Hyper-V or VMWare Virtual Machine image (P2V).
3. Backup data can now be exported from the backup server in encrypted format itself and imported into the client for restore.

Enhancements in v4

1. List of files backed up in a backup job can now be optionally included in the backup completion notification email.
2. Ability to abort a restore job from both client and backup server
3. Newly designed menu for easier navigation in web console UI.

Lime Are Moving!

Due to expansion lime are moving

So the time has come to up sticks and relocate.  After nearly two years Corporate House we are off to pastures new!  We are moving to a new office with a stronger network and comms infrastructure allowing us to keep up the level of service our clients deserve.

Also, we will be able to offer new services and host events and demo's a lot easier due to the facilities we will have access to.

VIPRE AV as Hosted Service

VIPRE hits release ready for use in our managed services

VIPRE is now available through our Business Support Packages (BSP) as an additional module.  This allows us to monitor, scan and remove threats as part of the managed service we offer our BSP customers.

There are many benefits to using a hosted service rather than a normal annual renewal, not least of all can be cost.  Our hosted AV comes in on average at just £2.20 per month per device and if you dont need a device any more, just let us know and we can release it.  This means you can immediately see the cost reduction rather than waiting until renewal time.

The anti-virus features real time protection, scheduled scans and all the other usual stuff you'd expect to see.  And, as it is hosted an managed by us, it's another hassle taken away from you!

From Thursday new features will be added to the network

From Thursday this week the signagelive network will be updated with a raft of new features including cross browser support, new language packs and a new layout editor.

GFI Product Update

Quarter 2 Product Update for GFI

GFI have released their product roadmap and feature set for Q2 2011.  With this release we see a host of new features on products like Vipre, MailArchiver, EventsManager and Backup 2011.

Vipre will now detect common threats out of the box, and will also have a greatly improved dashboard for deployment and viewing.  MailArchiver now includes support for Chrome and Safari as well as now including 14 more languages. 

Crucially GFI have now introduced MailArchive into the range of MAX products.  This means you can not only have a hosted Anti-Spam system, but also any mail that gets sent or received through will be archived properly.

Also on the MAX range workstation reports are now available for those customers who are on our Business Support Packages as there are on the server reports.  This way we can report back to you on workstation performance and end-user issues accordingly

New Data Protection

New version and new features for our Data Protection service

For the new version of our Data Protection service new features include:

Synthetic Full Backup of Files: During incremental backup schedules, StoreGrid client automatically runs a Synthetic Full Backup of a file if its backed up version file is larger than a certain percentage of its initial full backup. During Synthetic Full Backup, changed data with respect to the earlier Full Backup or Synthetic Full Backup alone is uploaded. Version files uploaded after a Synthetic Full Backup contain modified data with respect to the last Synthetic Full Backup and are therefore much smaller.

Synthetic Full Backup of Exchange Server: Instead of running Additional Full Backup of the Exchange Server to limit the number of incremental backups in the backup server, StoreGrid can now optionally run Synthetic Full Backups. During Synthetic Full Backups, only the data that is changed after the previous Full Backup or Synthetic Full Backup alone is uploaded and not the entire the Exchange Server data.

Further enhancements include:

Support for cleaning up multiple alarms at a time.

Ability to choose the parent folder and exclude sub folders or files while configuring file backups.

Adding client name and backup name in Windows Events.

Improved the performance in files tree listing during client side restore when large number of files exist in a folder.

StoreGrid client can now backup the site collections of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

Projects CMS v2 Draft

Projects CMS v2 enters draft stage for new features

Using some great feedback, some customised instances and items from our wishlist we are coming to the end of the draft stage for our new version of our Project CMS.

We are adding some great new features that will make adding and editing projects even easier than it already is!

Lime Rocket CMS

New CMS Site

Well the design for the new Lime Rocket CMS site has entered the final stages.  We have been working on a new site that is for demoing our CMS systems to customers who want the ability to change content themselves

As soon as the new site is ready we will be demoing our Projects, News, Special Offers and Vacanices CMS systems and how they can be controlled using CSS and jQuery plugins.

Selfriges Brand Video

In-Store video promoting fine fragrance brands

The Attic Room came to us to help put together a video for a new promotional site in Selfridges.  The brands involved included YSL, Clarins, Armani, Clinique, NUDE and REM.

We created an in-store video whose intended use was on a 60" portrait screen to maximise the impact in the store and managed to turn round the  storyboard to end product in a short timescale to ensure the deadline was met.

So far the site and video have received great feedback

MS to release IE 9

14th March Release Date

Microsoft have confirmed that they are releasing IE 9 on Monday 14th March. 

With a host of new features including:

Tracking Protection
Pause & Resume for file downloads
Power Saving features for notebooks
Faster performance utilising GPU acceleration

Will IE 9 be enough to beat off Firefox, Safari and Chrome?  I guess only time and useage will tell, though one thing is clear:  MS intend to make IE 9 a success.  If the recent releases like Windows 7, WM7, Office 2010 and SBS 2011 are anything to go by then it might just be.

GFI Web Monitor 2011

New version released

GFI have released a new version of their popular Web Monitor software for 2011.  Features include:

• Formulate and enforce an effective Internet Usage Policy
• Maximize available bandwidth by controlling what type of sites can be visited, setting time and bandwidth thresholds, and through proxy caching
• Protect the network from dangerous downloads in real time by managing what type of files users can download and benefitting from multiple antivirus engines to scan for viruses and other malware
• Block socially-engineered phishing scam websites and prevent data leakage through such sites
• Scan HTTPS-encrypted traffic for additional security

Business Support Package

At Lime we have been listening to our clients about what IT means to them and their businesses.  One theme that was immediately highlighted was that for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) IT costs and functions need to be clearly defined and easily budgeted.  There was also a clear need for simple explanations and minimal "tech-speak".

Another thing that was highlighted was that IT issues took up a large portion of their time, and it was felt that this time could be better spent elsewhere in their business.

Our solution was to come up with a range of packages that would not only be great for small businesses but also adaptable to meet the needs of a growing company.  This means we can tailor any of our three packages to meet individual needs.

All three packages come with three core items: Remote Server Monitoring and Desktop Support, Data Protection through offsite backups and Web hosting and redesign.

New Site launched

Jan 2011

Well here we are!  The new site has been launched and all at Lime are really pleased with it.  It has given Ross and Phil a few headaches in getting the site ready in such a short amount of time, but we feel both the design and the functionality of the site reflect us a lot more accurately now. 

Our old site was used for 4 years and now we have something that really allows us to show off projects we work on and news about what we have been up to!
